KARACHI, Aug 29: As he draws a picture of a house, thirteen-year-old Abdullah flashes a bright smile. Using colour pencils, he highlights the edges of the drawing — something that stands close to his heart. In a large hall of a government college at Razzaqabad relief camp, far away from the grassy fields of Sindh, Abdullah, hailing from Jacobabad district, tries to trace back his roots. “This is my home. THATTA: Jannan Soorjo summoned the energy to give birth in the historical Makli graveyard that has become her refuge from the floods but she cannot produce enough milk to feed her weak newborn. The 26-year-old looks down helplessly at her crying son, who was brought into the world early Sep 1 in the makeshift relief camp. KARACHI, Sep 1: Around 30,000 seats in the city’s public sector colleges and higher secondary schools are set to remain vacant, as the centralised admission policy (CAP) committee received only around 70,000 placement forms till the last date of submission against the 100,015 seats available in the institutions for the coming academic session. Deadline set for arrest of four Sialkot policemen

ISLAMABAD, Sept 3: The Supreme Court was informed on Sep 2 that in accordance with its directives the investigation into the lynching of two brothers in Sialkot had been transferred to a joint investigation team which had conducted the initial inquiry. The initial inquiry which followed a furore over the brutal killing of the brothers by a mob was headed by DIG Mushtaq Ahmed Sukhaira. A report by the team submitted to the court said that 17 civilians and 10 police personnel, including the former Sialkot DPO, had been arrested and four policemen were absconding.
